New Vocabulary

讀畢菲特1989年的給股東的信,學得EBDIT(Earnings Before Depreciation, Interest & Tax)這個字,九十年代末,TMT泡沫時已被EBITDA(Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation & Amortization)取代。

今天讀金沙(1928.HK)的招股書,才發現EBITDA已經Out了,原來時興一個發音差不多的新字 —— EBITDAR(Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, Amortization & Restructuring or Rent Costs)。

看來這個越來越長的趨勢是難免的。在這裡預測下一代的盈利詞語:
1)EBITDASGAR —— Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, Amortization, Selling, General, Administrative & Rent),聼起來像某個非洲大島;

2)EBITDACOGS —— Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, Amortization & Cost of Goods Sold;

3)EBEIDWTC —— Earnings Before Everything I Don't Want To Count
